A clinical heart scientist has been charged with defrauding an Essex hospital.
London-based John Mulholland, 40, faces a single count of conspiring to defraud Basildon and Thurrock University NHS Trust.
The charge - brought by Essex Police following an NHS investigation - covers the period between 2007 and 2011.
Mr Mulholland, of Copenhagen Place in Limehouse, will appear before magistrates in Basildon on Thursday.
Currently on police bail, Mr Mulholland worked at the hospital as a perfusionist, responsible for managing heart and lung machines during cardiac surgery.
