
The refuse collectors are on unofficial strike
Up to 30,000 homes will not have their rubbish collected as bin workers strike over a colleague's suspension.
About 40 refuse collectors from Coventry's Whitley Depot are protesting after a Unite Union convenor, who organised a smaller protest on Monday, was suspended.
The city council said it did not recognise Tuesday's action because it was "unofficial".
Strikers have said they will not return to work until the matter is settled.

Monday's protest is thought to have been over a bullying allegation which the council said had been fully investigated.
Union Unite claims the organiser of that protest was suspended and Tuesday's unofficial strike is in protest of that suspension.
Coventry residents expecting their bins to be collected have been advised by the city council to leave them out as normal.
If they are not collected, they will be picked up on the next scheduled bin collection day.
