A horse has had to be destroyed after it escaped from its paddock and collided with a car on a road near Banbury.
Police believe the horse escaped, external from its paddock after holes had been cut in the barbed wire fence. It was struck by a car on the B4035 Broughton Road shortly before 07:30.
PC Paul Morse said: "Unfortunately the horse had to be put down after the incident. This situation could have been a lot worse and could have caused a human fatality."

Oxfordshire County Council has responded to criticism over the time taken to complete roadworks at Cutteslowe and Wolvercote roundabouts.

The number of people ending their lives on the railways rose by 5% last year.
The latest figures show their were 300 suicides in the 12 months to March. A disproportionate number happen on the Great Western line and the Samaritans have been working with GWR staff.

A walk in Oxford has been shortlisted as one of the country's most romantic urban strolls by a UK charity.

Angela Plant: "It's an absolute joke! What's even more worrying is that, once complete, the roundabouts probably won't work. Total lane confusion on both which encourages bad driving and dangerous manoeuvres.
Kate Dyer: "There never seems to be any more than 10 or so people working (on both roundabouts) at one time. Surely it's better to have shifts of people working there all day every day and get it done?"
Alex Dutton: "Not all road users are being held up by the roadworks. I park up and cycle in from Kidlington every day, and I get through with no delay. Often faster than all the cars down the Banbury Road, too."
Oxfordshire County Council says that by doing both roundabouts at once it reduces the amount of time this part of the road network is affected.
A Thame-based adoption and fostering charity has welcomed the announcement that the UK will take unaccompanied children from refugee camps in Syria and neighbouring countries.
