Tomorrow will be mostly dry and there should be some sunny breaks. A few showers cannot be ruled out, and the easterly breeze will make it feel cold at times. Maximum temperature: 6C (43F).

Tottenham winger, Nathan Oduwa, has also joined the north Essex side on a one-month loan. 

Oduwa,19, spent the first half of this term on loan at Rangers, playing 15 times and had a previous loan at Luton.

After a decade of decisions, about half a dozen resubmissions and thousands of pages of planning, one of Britain's largest incinerators is set to be built in Essex.

Representatives of developers, Gent Fairhead, confirmed to me that work would begin at the site based at Rivenhall Airfield before 2 March. 

The plant, once completed, will have capacity for 600,000 tones of waste to be burnt providing energy to the National Grid.

League One side Colchester United have signed West Ham defender Leo Chambers on an initial one-month loan.

The 20-year-old former England Under-19 international has made three appearances for West Ham's first team, all in the League Cup in 2013.

Chambers may make his debut for the U's, managed by ex-Hammers coach Kevin Keen, against Shrewsbury on Saturday.

The deficit facing hospitals in the East of England has increased by 70% in a year to £441m, the BBC can reveal.

The biggest deficit in Essex is faced by the trust that runs Colchester Hospital, with a predicted shortfall of £39.4m in 2015-16.

The Department of Health said: "The government is committed to the NHS and its values, which is why we're investing £10bn to fund its own plan for the future - including nearly £4bn next year."

It's going to be a frustrating journey home for those leaving London. Greater Anglia is currently dealing with "debris caught on the overhead electric wires at Brentwood". 

It's affecting services leaving the capital.

Essex County Council, external has granted permission for one of Britain's largest waste plants and incinerators near Witham.

The site at Rivenhall Airfield,, external which is about 25 hectares (62 acres), will have the capacity to burn up to 600,000 tonnes of waste a year that would also provide energy. 

Some local residents were against the plans, with more than 200 signing a petition over concerns about emissions. 

The first man to be shot by Essex Police in 30 years has been jailed for six years.

Stephen Debley, 48, was holding two fake guns in Knights Way, Great Dunmow, the street where he lived, when police shot him in the leg in September last year.

At Chelmsford Crown Court today, Debley was jailed for two counts of possession of an imitation firearm with intent, affray and making threats to kill.

A man who robbed a pensioner of £4 on Christmas Eve has been jailed for three years.

The 76-year-old victim was walking home after a Christmas drink in Harlow when he was approached and punched a number of times, causing him to fall to the ground.

Jason Blackham, 26, of no fixed address, was sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court yesterday after pleading guilty to robbery.

Southend Hospital spent almost £100,000, external on interpreters for foreign nationals, and the deaf and blind, in just two years - as it was revealed the hospital deals with patients who speak 25 differing languages.

An Essex victim of abuse by the TV presenter, Jimmy Savile, says the ordeal has affected her entire life. 

A review led by the former High Court Judge Dame Janet Smith found dozens of young people had been sexually assaulted on BBC premises. 

Leisha Brookes, from Southend, said she's still living with what happened 35 years on: "I have a very warped sense of self-being. I'm unable to hold down relationships and I have a massive mistrust of men and women."
