Lamont: Geoffrey Howe was 'indispensable' to Thatcher

The former Conservative chancellor Geoffrey Howe was an "indispensable partner" to Margaret Thatcher, according to Norman Lamont.

Mr Lamont, who also served as a Conservative chancellor, said he believed Mrs Thatcher "would not have succeeded" without him.

He also described him as an "extremely determined" and "remarkably consistent" man.
