Nigel Farage: 2,000 candidates in May
Following UKIP's second-place finish in the Eastleigh by-election, leader Nigel Farage has said the party plans to field 2,000 candidates in the local elections in May.
Speaking on The Andrew Marr Show, Mr Farage also played down the assumption UKIP was taking Conservative votes, saying two-thirds of the party's support had come from other parties and those who had not voted for 20 years.
