Lord Hall says Blackburn evidence to inquiry 'fell short'

The director general, Tony Hall, has confirmed that the BBC has 'parted company' with Tony Blackburn, after Dame Janet Smith rejected evidence the DJ provided to the inquiry.

Mr Hall was speaking to a press conference in the wake of the publication of Dame Janet's report into abuse by Jimmy Savile while at the BBC.
