Using the Games as inspiration, millions of people will be encouraged to join in the excitement and take part in competitive events, held countrywide.

In a £3m programme funded by Sport England, regional media events will showcase the talents of the UK's elite young athletes.

Local sports clubs and youth groups will be encouraged to take part and emulate their sporting heroes.
