Britain's biggest sporting event ever will coincide with the Spirit of Friendship Festival involving communities throughout the UK and embracing countries across the globe using new media and the internet.

The Spirit of Friendship Festival will run from 11 March - 10 August 2002, and will combine a massive nationwide programme focusing on sport, arts, community and education as well as encompassing the celebrations for Her Majesty The Queen's Golden Jubilee.
