Allan Williams became the owner of two Liverpool clubs, the Blue Angel and the Jacaranda, opened in 1957. The Beatles appeared here occasionally during the summer of 1960. Between May and August 1960 Allan began to secure regular work for the group. In August 1960, Williams and The Beatles departed from outside "The Jac" in a van which took John, Paul, George, Stu and Pete to Hamburg for the first time. Still visible in the basement of the club are murals reputedly painted by John and Stuart. In the mid 70s, Alan released The Beatles Live! In the Starclub in Hamburg and In 75 he wrote a book about the Beatles called "The Man Who Gave the Beatles Away". Allan now enjoys a more relaxed pace of life which he shares with fellow Beatles contemporary Beryl Adams. |
