Robert Webb is the second half of Mitchell and Webb, the comedy duo who gave us the cult sitcom Peep Show and the Bafta-award-winning sketch show That Mitchell and Webb Look.
The pair met during a production of Cinderella at Footlights, the Cambridge University theatre group. After university, they languished on the comedy scene for ten years, the 'best kept secret in British comedy', until they landed their own radio sketch show That Mitchell and Webb Sound. That was the turning point for Robert who says even his dad relaxed when he turned up on Radio 4 because that meant 'everything was definitely going to be fine'.
Peep Show and the televised version of their sketch show, That Mitchell and Webb Look came next, followed by film roles and Apple ads. And the rest, as they say, is history. The second series of That Mitchell and Webb Look is on BBC 2 now and the fifth series of Peep Show is due to hit our screens later this year.
