Phill Jupitus

Confirmed for show six - 18th March 10:30pm on BBC Three

Phill Jupitus

Hugely successful stand-up comedian Phill Jupitus regularly graces our screens as team captain on Never Mind the Buzzcocks (where he's the longest serving panel member) as well as appearing on other TV show panels such as QI and It's Only TV But I Like It. But it's been a long and varied road to get to where he is today.

Phill's first job was in a job centre. He stuck it out for five years before deciding on a career change and becoming a left-wing punk performance poet going by the name of Porky the Poet.

As Porky, Phill supported bands such as The Housemartins, The Style Council and Billy Bragg. He also worked for an indie label called Go! Discs, had a stint as The Housemartins' press officer, and directed music videos for Billy Bragg and Kirsty McColl, before finally settling down to become on of the biggest names in comedy.
