Mark Ronson is both a Grammy-award-winning music producer and the superstar DJ of choice for A-list celebrities. As a producer he’s credited with discovering Lily Allen and sending Amy Winehouse’s career stellar, and as a DJ he was reportedly paid £40,000 to play at Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ wedding (where, apparently, his remix of the Top Gun theme tune went down very well).
Mark’s family tree makes interesting reading. His father managed pop acts including Bucks Fizz; his mother’s family founded Odeon cinemas. His stepfather is Mick Jones of 70s band Foreigner. Mark grew up surrounded by rock royalty and big-name celebs. The Who’s Keith Moon suggested Mark’s mother buy him a drum kit, Robin Williams tucked him in at night, his best friend was (and still is) Sean Lennon, it was to Yoko Ono’s apartment that he headed when he ran away from home, and he and Sean once had a sleepover with Michael Jackson.
Life is looking pretty rosy for Mark right now. He's just won a Best Producer Grammy and a Brit Award for Best British Male.
