| Guide to Chapel Allerton | |
| | | Chapel Allerton is that rarity, a village that has been smothered by the city but has not only survived but prospered. To bring you the delights of Leeds' living village we have talked to the people who live and work in the area. |
 | | | The main artery through Leeds 7 is Harrogate Road and, as you will see, much of the village's history is bound up with the existence of the old Leeds to Harrogate turnpike road.
The modern commuter between the two points might well stick to the A61 on his or her journey and miss Chapel Allerton completely.
We asked the Chairperson of the Chapel Allerton Residents Association (CARA), Margaret Jackson, to give her personal guide to the area. If looking round the area works up a thirst you might want to turn to stories on some of the local pubs.
Barrie Pepper says: "Just as Chapel Allerton has retained its village atmosphere it has also retained many of its old pubs. And they still have a place in the heart of the community." The local school is right there in the middle of the community and the headteacher explains why that position is vital. If you fancy actually living in the area why not take a tour of the housing market with a local estate agent?
Chapel Allerton also contains a large allotment gardens just looking for new members to go gardening.
This is BBC Leeds's guide to Chapel Allerton but we want to hear from you.
