In English, generally the key content words are stressed - these are the words that carry meaning - and the grammar words are unstressed - these are words like articles, prepositions, auxiliary words.
ในภาษาอังกฤษมักจะออกเสียงเน้นคำที่เป็นใจความหลักของประโยค ส่วนคำที่เป็นไปตามหลักไวยากรณ์จะไม่เน้นออกเสียง เช่น คำนำหน้าคำนาม คำบุพบท และคำช่วยต่าง ๆ

Contrastive stress

There are also times when you may need to stress one or two words in a sentence to emphasise meaning. For example:

Can you pass me my black HAT - not a black cat!

Can you pass me my BLACK hat - not the white one
