How to use 'share'

Share, as a verb, can mean use or have something at the same time as someone else.
Do you want to share my umbrella?
It's often used with food to mean having a portion of something with someone else.
Do you want to share a slice of cake? I can't eat a whole piece.
It can also be used to mean having the same ideas, feelings or hobbies.
You know I share your views on this topic.
On the internet, share means post something so that others can see it.
Share this video with your friends!
Finally, share can be a noun that means a part of something divided between people. This includes part of a listed company that people can buy.
The total amount is £60. My share is £20.
He has just bought more shares in the company.

It can also mean having the same opinions, feelings or hobbies.
- We both share a love of dancing!
- We share the same thoughts on politics.
A share, as a noun, can mean something divided between people, and can also mean part of a company people can buy.
- Your share is bigger than mine! Give me some of yours!
- I bought shares in a company. Hopefully I'll make a good profit.
