That’s not evidence, Rob! Evidence needs to be factual. ਅੱਜ ਦਾ ਕਲਿੱਪ BBC Clickਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।ਇਕ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਸਕੀਰਨਾਂ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਟੱਡੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਆਪਾਂ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਸਕਰੀਨ ਦਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੀ ਅਸਰ ਹੈ।

A: We absolutely found evidence that higher levels of time on screens, digital screens, is linked with harms.
B: What? Depression, anxiety, obesity?

A: Particularly around obesity and overweight. And some evidence with mental health problems, particularly depression.

‘Harm’ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ ‘damage’ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ। ਡਾਕਟਰ ਦੇ ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ ‘harms’ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਹ ਅਕਸਰ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਸੰਦਰਭ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਿਆਂ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ‘harm’(this one is right) ਨੂੰ ਕਿਰਿਆ ਵਜੋਂ ਵੀ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ।

‘Obesity’ ਮਤਲਬ ਮੋਟਾਪਾ। ‘Depression’ ਉਦਾਸੀ। ਪਰ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਂ ਸਕਰੀਨ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਸ਼ੀਨ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਨਿਕਲਦੀ ਹੈ। Can that really make us obese and depressed?

So, essentially, the doctor is telling us that it’s our behavior which is harmful to our health, because we aren’t doing important things – stuff like exercising, sleeping and eating healthily.
