KITCHEN
Nikesh
Where are you, Callie? I can barely hear you.
Callie
I’m at Dreamers’ Cliffs. Nikesh, can you hear me?
Nikesh
Just about. What have you got?
Callie
People are taking pictures. I’ve been here for half an hour and it’s not busy but people take pictures. I asked one of them and they said they post them… on Instagram. They like the hashtag - #dreamers. I’m on my way back in. I need you to see if any photos from Tuesday have been posted - it might tell us who was in the area.
Nikesh
I'm on it.
OFFICE
Evan
Did you watch the City game last night?
Nikesh
Nah. I was here. Worth it?
Evan
You didn’t miss much… Thought you might like to know, I was at the Phelps’ this morning. I’m their family liaison.
Nikesh
How are they?
Evan
Sad. Angry. She’s got her sister there with her. Pip said something funny though. Might be of note, might not.
Nikesh
Yeah?
Evan
He said, “Is daddy finished his meeting yet?” Apparently, Jamie promised him ice cream after his meeting. And he hasn’t seen him since…
Nikesh
So he was planning on coming back… Listen, cheers Evan. Look, do you mind not mentioning that to upstairs just yet? We’d like to see if we can hold onto the case.
CORRIDOR
Nikesh
Dear Miss… (deletes) Hi there, please call DC Nikesh Ready. We would like your assistance in an ongoing investigation.
Callie
That new deli is incredible… Got anything?
Nikesh
Sorry, I’d better take this… I think it could be useful.
INTERVIEW ROOM
Sarah
She was trashed though. And do you remember that skateboard? Oh my days….
Nikesh
Callie, this is Sarah, turns out she was at school with Denise.
Sarah
How random is that? Last time we saw each other was at a very messy wedding…
Callie
DS Pritchard. Won’t you sit down? DC Reddy here tells me you posted several pictures from Dreamers’ Cliffs on Tuesday.
Sarah
That’s right. I was walking the dogs. It’s gorgeous up there. Light’s amazing.
Callie
What time were you there?
Sarah
About lunchtime? Oh, I can tell you exactly actually – I’ve got this health, fitness tracker app on my phone. It’ll show when I was walking, climbing the cliffs… Here it is. I was coming up from the car park at one o’clock. It’s like 56 flights of stairs!
Nikesh
Did you see any little kids around? A boy on his own perhaps?
Sarah
No, don’t think so. It was pretty quiet. It normally is up there. Oh, but you know who I did see? That bloke!
Callie
What bloke Sarah?
Sarah
That bloke from that thing… Oh I can’t remember his name… He’s… I got a selfie. Let me find it. He was funny about my taking it mind. Made me promise not to post it. Said he valued his privacy. He’s much fitter on the telly. Here it is. Have a look.
Nikesh
Sarah, this is really important. Was he coming down from the cliffs or coming up?
Sarah
Up I think? Oh, no, down actually, because he told me not to go too close to the edge, said the cliff was crumbling.
Callie
Thank you, that has been very helpful.

I think it was a crime and that both Lucy's brother-in-law and Arthur could be very involved in the murder. And of course there were monetary interests. Who knows?
Eloisa, Mexico
The drama is really engaging, and I love listening to a pronunciation designed by the emotions of the characters.
Silvia, Italy
I confess that I find it more demanding to figure out how the Father and Son drama ends than climbing a wall in the Alps!
Mauro, Italy
Thanks for this exciting way of learning English. I wait for the new series almost with the same impatience as for a TV series. You actors speak like real people. Sometimes it is hard to understand which particular words they say, but due to having the transcription, it is very, very useful in comparison to just listening to e.g. the news. And due to the short duration of every part of the story, I feel comfortable listening to the problem parts several times.
Andrey, Russia
Amazing idea to create Father and Son as a way to learn English. The plot keeps me in suspense and makes me think all the time in new English words and phrases.
Rosario, Peru
