Hi, I’m Phil from BBC Learning English, and today I’m going to tell you how to use the words fun and funny…
They're both words we use to talk about happy things – but they don’t mean the same thing
So we use fun to talk about things that we enjoy
So – I think going out with friends is fun – watching football is fun, practising English is fun… it is, isn’t it?
Now the main use of funny is…. Something that makes you laugh.
Jokes make you laugh, comedy films make you laugh – people make you laugh.
So, if it makes you happy – it’s fun and If it makes you laugh – it’s funny.
Function/કેવી રીતે ઉપયોગ કરવું
Fun
Fun નો ઉપયોગ લોકોને જે વસ્તુ કરવામાં આનંદ આવે છે તે વિશે જણાવવા માટે થાય છે.
- Visiting new places is fun.
- Playing videogames is fun.
Funny
Funny નો ઉપયોગ એ જણાવવા માટે થાય છે કે કોઈ બાબત અથવા વસ્તુ રમૂજી છે.
- My cousin is so funny, she always makes me laugh.
- Playing videogames is fun.
Structure /વાક્યરચના
Fun અને Funny વિશેષણ તરીકે ઉપયોગ કરી શકાય. વાક્યમાં ક્રિયાપદ પછી અથવા સંજ્ઞા પહેલા Fun અને Funny નો ઉપયોગ કરવો.
- This game is fun.
- That was a fun day out.
- The play was very funny.
- He is a funny guy.

- Something very funny happened yesterday. I was worried.
- This food tastes funny. Is it OK?
