The story
A plant-based diet reduces the risk of developing bowel cancer.
That's according to a new study in the US which found that men who ate healthy plant-based foods are over 20 per cent less likely to develop the disease. There was no reduction in risk for women, but there were differences between ethnic groups.
Scientists say more research still needs to be done.
