Useful expressions

1. dampen sales

To 'dampen sales'  म्हणजे विक्री कमी होणे. Dampen चा शब्दशः अर्थ आहे ओलसर होणे.
याचा विक्रीचा जोर कमी झालाय असं सांगताना अलंकारीक भाषेत इथे 'dampen sales'  वापरलं आहे.

 2.  uptick

An 'uptick' म्हणजे थोडीशी वाढ होणे. याचा वापर अमेरिकन इंग्लिशमध्ये जास्त होतो.

 3. dull lustre

'Lustre' म्हणजे चमक. चमक कमी झालीये म्हणजे म्हणजे त्याबद्दलच आकर्षण कमी झालंय.
