Yesterday we learned that improving your awareness of native-speaker pronunciation can be good for your listening skills. Did you get the answers to Tim's questions?

• The word 'can' is pronounced in two different ways: /kæn/ and /kən/. /kæn/ is the 'strong form' and /kən/ is the 'weak form'.
• The correct option was a) the stress in the sentence.
  
  We use the strong form when 'can' is the word that's stressed in the sentence. We use the weak form when it isn't stressed. It's important to be able to recognise these features of connected speech because it will help make you a better listener.
