Nasa is due to make a major announcement about its first mission to the sun, which is scheduled for next year.  

If something is scheduled, it means it is planned to happen at a particular day or time. But how do we pronounce the word scheduled? Watch the video and find out.

  • The stress is on the first syllable: SCHED-uled
  • The first syllable is pronounced /ˈʃed/   Note: In American English the pronunciation is /ˈskɛdʒuːl/ (skedzh-ool).
  • In phonemic script, the word is written like this: /ˈʃedjuːld/
