Useful expressions

1. at death's door

'At death's door' म्हणजे मरणाच्या दारात पोचलेले. मृत्युघटीका जवळ आलेले.

• She is really ill. She's at death's door.
• He was at death's door after the accident, but the doctors were able to save him.

2.closer to [extinction] than feared

'Closer to' म्हणजे जवळ पोचलेत, 'feared' म्हणजे भीती व्यक्त करणे.

• Economy closer to recession than feared.
• Company closer to bankruptcy than feared.

3. face a murky future

A 'murky future'  म्हणजे अस्पष्ट किंवा गढूळ भविष्य. भविष्यातील अनिश्चीती किंवा काळजी यातुन व्यक्त होते. Murky म्हणजे गढूळ, अस्वच्छ.

• Bowler faces murky future after failing to take any wickets.
• Show faces murky future after fall in ratings.
