Flavours of Lancashire

Celebrating the diverse range of growers and food producers in the county...

The Feature has been exploring Lancashire's unique food heritage...

There's been a quiet revolution in the county in recent years, in favour of real, wholesome, home-cooked food... using the resources and products of a rich, diverse and perhaps undervalued range of growers and producers... from farmers in the fields to fisherman along our coastline...many operating traditionally, others successfully adapting to the times.

They're celebrated in a new book called Flavours of Lancashire, written by local historian and self-confessed food-lover Malcolm Greenhalgh.

Hear Malcolm's guided tours of some of his favourite local haunts, taking in cheese, geese, fish, meat, vegetables and some exotic ice cream...

Robin Dodgson
Great feature, great subject put together by a multi talented top, top man. His other talents include entymology, fly tying and fly fishing which have earned him a world wide reputation. Regards for one of his biggest fans now working in Trinidad & Tobago but still a member of the Lakeland Flydressers.
