Watamu schoolchildren
Sue and Dave plan to build an orphanage

Before the year 2000, Sue Hayward, a hotelier in Blackpool, didn't believe in fate. But her life changed because of a simple holiday destination mix up.

Sue and her husband Dave now run a charity supporting a junior school at Watamu on the east coast of northern Kenya.

Their Castlemere Hotel near Blackpool seafront is now on the market and once it's sold they'll be moving to Kenya lock, stock and barrel to build and run an orphanage... or Happy House as Sue prefers to call it.

Sue tells BBC Radio Lancashire's Steve Becker how the happiness she hopes to bring to the children grew out of her own unhappiness...
