Introduction
How is this going to help at college / university

Girl at work

ICT has changed the way we study and present our work. It has made it possible for us to be much more organised and can help make huge amounts of information much more manageable.

Studying can get pretty stressful at times, so why not make life easier for yourself by learning some time-saving ICT skills? It'll be worth it in the long run.

While you're studying, knowing the basics of ICT can mean saving yourself a lot of time and effort. It'll also help you turn out much more impressive work. Some of the things your ICT skills can help you with include:

  • Writing your essays using a word processor
  • Researching on the Internet
  • Collating data using spreadsheets
  • Producing Graphs using spreadsheets
  • Producing reports and questionnaires
  • Producing leaflets and handouts
  • Preparing and giving presentation using packages like Powerpoint
  • Copying and pasting text
  • Keeping records
  • Keeping study logs
  • Communicating with other students using e-mail

Learning about ICT is a must. It really is going to make your life much easier and that means less stress ... and less stress is good. And it also means that you'll be able to find time to chill out.
