My name is Albert Grundy and I was born in Wanstead, London in 1913. I was one of seven children, having five brothers and a sister (see photo in The First Flying Bombs story)

I joined the Auxiliary Fire Service in 1938 and served throughout the war at various stations in and around London.

I lived during the war years at Portman Drive, Woodford Green.

I married Lilian and we had two children, Iris and David.
