I am not the sort of person that's going to run around the street with a St George flag if England win. However when I came back from this whole trip I began to, I think ... feel , I don't know ... I felt that I'd fallen between the stools, literaly, before - caught between two cultures. And then when I came back I just felt like I had, maybe, found my identify. And felt more comfortable with it.
And actually the recent 2004 European Championships were the first time I have watched football in the pub with other people, and actually cheered when England have scored. I still never going to wear ... you'll never see me in a million years running around the streets with a St George flag. But you know ... it was quite happy.
It felt quite good actually; you know to actually feel comfortable. And actually feel comfortable when England lost, and go ... and not go ... 'Oh, actually that doesn't really matter because my family aren't English'. I said, 'Well we lost and so whatever, you know ... next game we might win'. You know ... I didn't feel ... I felt quite comfortable.
