Bernadette knew a career in showbiz was beckoning when, from the age of four, she began entertaining her family on long car journeys with 'Radio Bernie'.
Our very own version of Radio Bernie can be heard on BBC Hereford and Worcester every Saturday between 12 and 2pm with The Referendum.
This is the programme where you really do have the chance to have your say on the topic of the week by calling 0845 300 8181.
Bernie read music at the University of Surrey and plays the piano, guitar, violin, viola and can sing as well!
After being trained as a BBC reporter in 1988, she enjoyed spells at BBC Radio Derby, York, Cornwall and Ulster before landing a job here at BBC Hereford and Worcester.
She's also been a presenter on BBC Midlands Today and has worked with our colleagues at Pebble Mill since 1990.
Bernie has a daughter called Grace, a son called Matthew and she's married to cricket correspondent, Clive Eakin - a relationship that blossomed in the early days of BBC Hereford & Worcester.
Bernie's ambitions are to go shopping alone, to have a bath lasting half an hour with no interruptions, to be able to afford a full-time ironing lady, and to read something other than Mr Tickle and Postman Pat!
