Gotland is situated in the middle of the Baltic Sea, 50-60 miles from the Swedish mainland.  Greenland is the world's largest island, located where the northern Atlantic meets the Arctic.  Guernsey is the second largest of the Channel Islands and is situated some 80 miles south of the UK.  Hitra neighbours Frøya and both islands are situated off the coast of Central Norway.  Isle of Man is not part of the UK but an independent country which controls its own affairs.  The Isle of Wight is separated from the south coast of England by the Solent.  The largest of the Channel Islands which has given its name to a breed of cow, a lily and a jumper.  The Spanish island of Menorca is situated in the middle of the Western Mediterranean.
