With the medals tally all ready on the rise Guernsey had their sights set on more on Tuesday at the Island Games in 2009.

In the Archery Chantelle Goubert won bronze in the Single FITA women's recurve event with a personal best score of 1134

Guernsey's men's football team progressed from the group stages on the Tuesday morning following an eight goals to nil win over Froya.

The women's basketball team had a comprehensive 89-23 victory over the Isle of Man leaving them in a strong position for medal hopes later in the week.

On the track there was a gold medal for Guernsey's Kylie Robilliard in the women's 100m hurdles and Glenn Etherington also picked up gold in men's 110m hurdles. Tom Druce came in at 1.52.04 to get another gold for Guernsey in the men's 800m. Also the 4 x 100 metre relay team qualified for the finals with the second fastest time in the Heats. They recorded a time of 42.64 seconds.

Back in the swimming pool it was another successful day for Guernsey as Ben Lowndes picked up a second gold medal in the 100m Men's Butterfly and Ian Hubert won silver in the same event. Also in the pool there was gold for the Guernsey team in the Men's 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay and bronze in the women's event. Jeremy Osbourne, Jonathan Le Noury and Lotte Parfitt also picked up medals.

In the table tennis Guernsey lost out to Jersey 4-3 in the first phase of the play offs but beat Greenland seven to nil to win a bronze medal.

Patrick Ogier and Dominic McClusky were back on the tennis court in the men's singles competition with both getting through the round of 32 two sets to nothing.

Sark picked up their first medal as well in the Automatic Ball Trap Team shooting event as Nicholas Dewe and Stefan Roberts picked up silver with a score of 144.
