Band History

Thee Jenerators started life as the brain child of former Risk frontman Mark Le Gallez who wanted to start a garage band and was originally comprised of Mark, on guitar and vocals, Steve Lynch on bass and 'Ozzy' Austin on drums.

After one gig Mark decided he couldn't sing and play guitar at the same time so Matt Stephen was brought in on guitar and this line up recorded the Jenerator X album as well as the Burn Down The House single.

Following that the line up changed when Steve switched to guitar and Nick joined on bass after Matt's departure, this line up was further boosted by the addition of Henry and Garrick and their saxophones in 2005 as the band signed with Biff! Bang! Pow! Records to record their 'Who The Hell is Frank Wilson' EP.

Summer 2007 saw the release of the bands second full length 'The Kids Are... Not Alright' on Twist Records.

May 2008 saw Thee Jenerators kick up a storm at Guernsey Live before keeping the gigging going through the summer - including a triumphant showing at the Vale Earth Fair - and into the recording of their third full length album in September 2008.

The bands influences would run into thousands, but they say everything from Abba to Zappa just about covers it but with a particular focus on the rock and soul sounds of the 1970s alongside rockabilly and ska has had a definite effect on their sound.

The Future

Thee Jenerators intend to keep gigging and generally enjoying themselves.

Their Favourite Gigs

"As the current line up the best show so far has to be the 2006 Vale Earth Fair. The crowd were with us from the off!"
