Over 2,000 students donned their mortarboards, gowns and hoods for the University of Gloucestershire's 2004 graduation ceremonies. Hundreds of proud parents and family members celebrated the academic achievements of their kin at Cheltenham Race Course's vast new venue, The Centaur. Graduates ranged from people in their twenties to one 77-year-old lady, who proved that it's never too late to study. News broadcaster Sir Trevor Macdonald was granted an Honorary Doctorate in recognition of his services to journalism, and gave a speech about the ongoing importance of his profession in the modern world. Also among those granted Honorary Doctorates are writer Dick King-Smith and Gardener's World presenter Chris Beardshaw. ................................................
