He also opened the university's new broadcast journalism studios and fielded questions from students of the faculty. The new facilities, at Cheltenham's Pitville Campus, include a computer suite and newroom featuring state-of-the-art editing equipment. Other well-known recipients of honorary doctorates at the university this year include writer Dick King-Smith, famous for his talking pigs, and BBC Gardener's World presenter Chris Beardshaw. ................................................
