Murphy Big On Shrinking
Brett Ratner will remake The Incredible Shrinking Man with Eddie Murphy in the title role. Brian Grazer is producing this revised version of the best-selling novel and 1957 sci-fi movie. This time out, Ratner will take a comedic approach to this fantastical story of a renowned Las Vegas magician who is cast under a spell and quickly begins to shrink. The magician must find a way to break the spell before he disappears completely. (Cue the knob jokes.)

Alarm bells should ring when we tell you that White Chicks helmer Keenen Ivory Wayans was previously attached to direct.
Berry Very Busy
Halle Berry will be pulling a double shift in Frankie And Alice. As well as starring, she'll also produce this bold psychological drama following a young woman struggling with multiple personality disorder. The twist is that, although she is black, her alter-ego is a white racist. Frankly, we can't believe Keenen Ivory Wayans didn't think of this first.

No start date has been confirmed for production. At the moment Berry is preparing to take the role of a lawyer in Tulia, the true story of 40 black men wrongly convicted of drug offences.
Kilmer Cleans Up Streets
In what could be a line-up of Hollywood's most dangerous, Val Kilmer, 50 Cent, Sharon Stone and, uh, Dylan McDermott will be teaming up for Streets Of Blood. Heaven help Charles Winkler (son of Irwin Winker) who will be doing his best to maintain order on the set of this police drama. Yeah, that McDermott is a real handful apparently.

He and Kilmer will take centre stage as cops facing total chaos on the streets of New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The eight-week shoot starts next month.
Garner Garnering
Jennifer Garner has signed a multi-picture deal with Warner Bros. Her slate of projects - which she'll produce and star in - includes a remake of the Japanese drama Be With You about a dead woman who lives again for just one second to figure out her purpose. Also in development are Arranged, about a modern-day arranged marriage, and Devil In The Junior League centred on a stuffy socialite whose husband disappears with another woman.

Love and loyalty is a definite theme with Sabbatical chronicling the itchy seventh year of a marriage, and 3 Days In Europe following a couple whose holiday threatens to tear them apart. Suffice it to say, if we were Ben Affleck, we'd be worried.
Watson Best Bet For Betsy?
Harry Potter regular Emma Watson will replace Scarlett Johansson in period drama Napoleon And Betsy. It's not often these two end up competing for the same parts, but apparently the producers decided they wanted somebody younger (ouch) to play the young, impetuous noblewoman Betsy. While trapped on the British Isle of St Helena, she meets and falls in love with an exiled Napoleon.

Don't feel too sorry for Scarlett Johansson. She may be off somewhere pouting, but it's most likely for a lot of money in a lipstick commercial.
