Spielberg In 3D
With his studio boss hat on, Steven Spielberg is masterminding a live action version of Japanese Manga classic Ghost in the Shell. Dreamworks has nabbed the rights to the futuristic cartoon cop caper and plans to turn it into a 3D movie with proper actors and everything.

The film will follow the adventures of a top secret unit that specialises in techno crime. First published as a comic in 1989, the series has spawned three anime movies a TV series and a bunch of videogames. "Ghost in the Shell is one of my favorite stories" Spielberg told Variety. "It's a genre that has arrived, and we enthusiastically welcome it to DreamWorks". Either that or he's been watching Saturday morning telly with his kids again.
Demi's Back
Demi Moore is making a bigscreen comeback with back to back roles in a pair of indie movies. First up, the Ghost star will appear alongside Parker Posey in family drama Happy Tears. Moore and Posey play sisters trying to cope with their father's dementia. Mitchell Lichtenstein is writing and directing.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Moore will follow Happy Tears with Bunraku, a martial arts movie set in a Sin City style alternate world. The film stars Josh Hartnett and Woody Harrelson. Moore has landed herself the charming role of a warlord's enslaved concubine. Moore's last movie was Mr Brooks with Kevin Costner. This new pair of deals is a canny move on the actress's part, which should her both indie respectability and some kung fu fanboy love.
Von Trier Shoots Antichrist
Lars Von Trier is taking a break from politically explosive drama to make a horror movie. The mischevious Danish director has finally managed to raise enough finance to shoot Antichrist, his long awaited chiller.

The film will will be Von Trier's first project in Germany. Apparently, the story follows a couple who retreat to a spooky woodland cabin to recover from the death of their child. Is it just us, or does that sound a wee bit like the Evil Dead movies? Maybe Bruce Campbell will make a guest appearance. With Von Trier at the helm, you just never know.
Chan And Tucker Reunite
Run for the hills! Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, stars of the increasingly misbegotten Rush Hour series, are teaming up again. Chatting to MTV recently, Chan revealed that he was keen to make another movie with his motormouth co-star - although it definitely won't be another Rush Hour movie. Let us be thankful for small mercies. Chan says he's looking for a writer, but wouldn't reveal any detail about what particular story he has in mind.

So what could the dynamic duo tackle next? A remake of Lethal Weapon? Butch and Sundance? Romeo and Juliet? whatever they come up with, you can guarantee equal parts kung fu and screeching.
