About This Event

In 2020 composer Sarah Lianne Lewis joined the BBC NOW family as our Composer Affiliate, and this afternoon we’re treated to the World Premiere performance of her new work, Creatures of Dust and Dreams, conducted by conductor, Finnegan Downie Dear.

British composer and violist John Woolrich’s melancholic and brooding songs without words, his Viola Concerto, takes centre stage, performed by BBC New Generation Artist Tim Ridout, before Ravel’s luscious, magical, enchanting and playful score for the ballet Ma Mere l’Oye (Mother Goose), which brings the concert to a rousing finale.
