Naomi Pinnock’s new work explores the dynamics of intimacy and space within the orchestra, referencing Agnes Martin’s set of twelve paintings, The Islands, painted in 1979, the year of the composer’s birth. Meanwhile, artist and composer James Clarke’s Untitled No.9 continues his belief that music (and visual art) makes a statement on its own terms, avoiding words descriptions and titles as much as possible.
