Award-winning conductor Delyana Lazarova makes her debut with the BBC Symphony Orchestra in a concert of music by Tchaikovsky and Adam Schoenberg.
Schoenberg’s Finding Rothko, inspired by a “visceral reaction” to a group of paintings by the Abstract Expressionist artist Mark Rothko. The concert closes with Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony. The recurring theme of ‘fate’ is woven throughout this dramatic symphony as it journeys from darkness to light.
