    Loyle Carner meets Eric Cantona

That's French, of course, for goodbye.

    We are out of here.

Scroll down for a Strictly dancer reworking an Arctic Monkeys classic, news of Pink's raunchy new music video, Liam's festival headline slot and Sia continuing her early Christmas drive. Plus all the action from BBC Introducing's Great Escape showcase and a #TBT from Sheffield's finest.

Just time to tell you that London rapper and football fanatic Loyle Carner's dreams came true yesterday when he finally met his idol Eric Cantona.

Eric told Loyle that he learnt to play the trumpet after he was banned from football for nine months for kung foo kicking a Crystal Palace fan in 1995...and turns out he's a big fan of 1950s US jazz trumpeter Chet Baker.

    Who knew? Not us...

But why does Liverpool fan Loyle wear the Manchester United great's shirt around his neck when he performs?

Find out by watching the The Premier League Show on BBC Two tonight from 22:00 GMT...but for now watch a preview of a slightly star-struck Loyle above.

    Adieu...

So Strictly speaking, we think we've brought you the best Arctic Monkeys cover ever today (scroll down).

But the Sheffield lads are not afraid of an outrageous cover themselves.

Way before it was cool - and seemingly mandatory to do so - the Dancefloor rockers had a crack at one of Toronto ladies man Drake's hits in the Radio 1 live lounge.

So our #TBT today takes us back to September 2013 and their cover of Hold On, We're Going Home.

We can't knock his singing or flawless songwriting but Alex Turner could still learn a thing or two from Anton Du Beke when it comes to dancing.

But then again we all could...

South London singer RAYE was back in the Radio 1 studios last night to provide some 'lit' lyrics on Radio 1 DJ Charlie Sloth's Slothland National Anthem.

"We've got a banger!" exclaimed the DJ.

It's still a work in progress (with rumours of some big name cameos) but once it's complete, could Charlie's anthem be a future Hottest Record?

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter has said he is "shocked and saddened" to be accused of rape by a member of girl band Dream

"He was relentless, refusing to take my nos for an answer," she alleged.

In a statement, Carter - whose band Backstreet Boys have just kicked off a residency in Las Vegas - said Ms Schuman had "never expressed to me while we were together or at any time since that anything we did was not consensual".

He even worked up a real sweat in the process.

"This is the hottest room in the world" he joked.

"I knew it was warmer down south like but this ridiculous."

Geordie Sam, who first uploaded to BBC Music Introducing in the North East in May 2017, confessed to an intimate crowd that he had "a punchable face", before explaining why and how in song form.

    Love Ssega

Eccentric Lewisham artist Love Ssega got the party started with his blend of new wave, 80s hip-hop and funky disco pop.

LS sent his first tracks over in October 2015 but his real claim to fame so far is having sung on chart-toppers Clean Bandit's first release Mozart's House, external, while he was still at Cambridge Uni.

Fun fact: The singer, who was backed brilliantly last night by his Chic-esque band in matching Hawaiian shirts, has a PhD in laser sensing.

He certainly sensed how to bring some sunny vibes indoors on a crisp winter's eve and channeled his inner Bob Marley while addressing the fast-building audience.

"I'd like to say this song is about black power. But it's for everyone" he said.

"Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, whatever it is."

Even those of you who preferred Nintendo back in the day surely can't help but tap your feet to some of Ssega's sounds...

Another record is also on the cards, the first since the band's self-titled 2006 release.

Sells has hardly been idle in the interim though, having used the time to compose the score for a new musical that opened in London this week following a well-received run earlier this year at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.

John McCrea (centre) with other cast members from Everybody's Talking About JamieImage source, Alastair Muir

Inspired by a 2011 BBC Three documentary, Everybody's Talking About Jamie tells of a 16-year-old schoolboy who longs to be a drag performer and the loving single mother who backs him all the way.

Sells says he was drawn to the story because it felt "modern, fresh and progressive". "It was the kind of story I hadn’t heard told before," he tells BBC News.

Dan isn't the first pop star to try his hand at musicals. Gary Barlow recently had a go with The Girls, while Sir Elton John arguably led the way in 2005 with the blockbusting Billy Elliot.

"I think it’s been a natural thing through the ages for songwriters to find different outlets for their music," says Sells, adding he was looking for "a different home for my songs than just radio".

John McCrea and Josie Walker in Everybody's Talking About JamieImage source, Johan Persson

"I wanted the melodies to be memorable and catchy," Sells continues. "But the songs have to do a bit more lifting than a regular pop song.

"With pop music you can be a bit vague and throw the odd arty lyric in, but you can’t do that in musical theatre.

"You have an audience sitting there who are focused on the story and you have to keep them involved with every line. I think I’ll be a better pop writer now for doing this."

Everybody's Talking About Jamie, external runs at London's Apollo Theatre until 21 April.

"I feel more powerful and more capable than I was before. I feel so much less fragile, so much more resilient."

So says Paloma Faith as she promotes her latest album The Architect which looks set to displace Taylor Swift at the top of the UK chart this week.

Speaking to our music reporter Mark Savage, she said: "It feels amazing to be doing this for the fourth time," she says. "Especially now, as no-one really lasts in music any more."

The record certainly has a lot to live up to: all of Faith's albums have gone double platinum in the UK. What's more, each has outsold the last - an incredible feat at a time when record sales are in steep decline.

She admits to "a few nerves" over the new record but, at the time of writing, The Architect looks certain to replace Taylor Swift's Reputation at the top of the charts.

Following the death of rapper Lil Peep, from an apparent prescription drug overdose, at least one rapper has questioned the trend of artists appearing to glamorise or glorify drug addiction.

Queens of the Stone Age announced a big Finsbury Park gig yesterday, after frontman Josh Homme was given a slapped wrist (and possibly a fine) for smoking on stage at the Manchester Arena.

There was none of that in the Radio 2 studios yesterday as the LA band popped in and blagged their way through a session with Jo Wiley (above).

"We don't prepare as hard as we can and I think that really is what makes the difference," said Josh. "It not being ready".

The band, who are touring new album Villains, also told the presenter about their first ever garage gigs from the high school days (even monstrous stadium rock bands gotta start somewhere) and what their greatest ever gig was.

    Clue: It was in England.

Listen below and see if you were there.
