The lead singer of Elbow has called the attack at Manchester Arena "hugely disturbing".

Guy Garvey - who grew up in nearby Bury - told Radio 4's Martha Kearney about his connection to the arena, which he described as "part of the heart of the city".

"It's so sad that somebody can do that," said the 6 Music presenter.

He added: "The people who will be most afraid of what he did... will be real Muslims, members of the real faith who don't believe in violence."

The identity of the attacker has not yet been confirmed, however Prime Minister Theresa May said security services believe they know who carried out the bombing.
