He spoke to 6 Music's Steve Lamacq about their cult classic performance of hit Into The Valley on Top of the Pops above.

That's when LCD Soundsystem will drop two new songs entitled Call the Police and American Dream.

According to the band's Facebook page, external the tracks will drop digitally at the witching hour, wherever you are (so Aussie fans get an unfair advantage).

Frontman James Murphy also revealed the band's new album is nearly done and that it has been "one of the most enjoyable records to make in my life, if not the most fun ever (I think it is, for sure, the happiest I've ever been making a record.)"

Okay, so alarms set for midnight people...or you may turn into a pumpkin.

Neneh Cherry is the latest singer to tread the well-worn post-pop path towards feature films.

In Stockholm My Love, she plays architect Alva, who one year on is still struggling to recover from a traumatic event. So she bunks off work and wanders the streets of the Swedish capital city.

The star, who was born in Sweden, also contributes five new songs to the soundtrack.

It premiered at the London Film Festival last year and is to be released in June.

The executors of Prince's estate must shell out $1m (£775,000) if they want to continue preventing the release of the unheard music, a court in Minnesota has ruled.

A federal judge extended a restraining order issued last month preventing the release of the Deliverance EP - six previously unreleased songs recorded by engineer Ian Boxill - with the $1m serving as a bond.

The payment is due on 12 May and it will extend the restraining order until 22 May. 

The EP was due to coincide with the first anniversary of Prince's death on 21 April.

Prince's estate claim Boxill doesn't own the rights to the material.

Lionel Martin, better known as Saxa, of the influential Brimingham ska band The Beat has died at the age of 87.

The news was announced by his bandmate Roger Charlery aka Ranking Roger on Facebook (pictured together above).

"I am so very sad and sorry to have to announce to the world that the great Saxa passed away in his sleep last night," he wrote.

"I am in tears and will miss you so much. Nobody could ever be like you. We will miss you dearly my mentor. :((( " 

The saxophonist, who was born in Jamaica, performed with many ska and reggae pioneers including Prince Buster, and Desmond Dekker.

Katy Perry is being slated for posting the front page of a newspaper showing her Met Gala outfit alongside an image of a French policeman on fire.

The pop star shared the photo with a caption "All the news that's fit to print," with a heart emoji.

But some people have labelled the post insensitive.

"Disgusting. Are you really so selfish Katy? Is your dress really so important that you think this is at all acceptable? I hope that police officer makes it home to his family," wrote one user.

Well Ed clearly enjoys a swift half but now the always outspoken Miley Cyrus has given a revealing interview to Billboard, saying she's kicking all of her vices into touch.

She talks about her new single Malibu - a love letter to her actor fiance Liam Hemsworth, her sister Noah Cyrus's burgeoning career and giving up smoking cannabis... for three weeks.

"I haven’t smoked weed in three weeks, which is the longest I’ve ever [gone without it]. I’m not doing drugs, I’m not drinking, I’m completely clean right now! That was just something that I wanted to do."

She also appears to throw some shade Ed Sheeran's way when the interviewer asks if her new album is akin to singer-songwriter material.

"Yeah. But not granola. I don’t listen to Ed Sheeran and John Mayer and stuff."

Ouch.

According to the Sunday Times Rich List, the singer comes home in joint 19th alongside Queen guitarist Brian May, with each boasting a small fortune of £125m.

This means she's the richest solo female musician in the paper's annual wealth survey, which is dominated by, well, let's be honest here... mainly old white men.

Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney and wife Nancy Shevell sit in top spot with a combined value of £780m (buying Christmas presents must be a nightmare).

The Biebs' reported tour rider ahead of his show in Mumbai have gone viral online.

It's the first time the singer has performed in the country.

Ahead of the show, music journalist Arjun S Ravi claims to have seen a press release outlining Justin's reasonable requests.

We should at this point say we don't have an official confirmation from Justin's people as to whether Arjun's claim is accurate.

But we really hope it is.
