Meg Rosoff, prize-winning author of Jonathan Unleashed, How I Live Now and Just In Case, introduces a series of the best comic readings from literature to tie in with Beethoven’s penchant for ‘musical jokes’. In the year when the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize for Comic Fiction was withheld because none of the entries were considered funny enough, we take the temperature comic writing in the UK today. Presented by Shahidha Bari with readings from actor Carl Prekopp.
Edited version broadcast on BBC Radio 3 during tonight's interval.
