Two contrasting pieces of narration set to music. The BBC Singers and conductor Nicolas Chalmers present Hymn - Alan Bennett's early musical recollections, originally set to music written for string quartet by George Fenton. Hymn has been arranged for the BBC Singers by Clare Wheeler, with additional material by Jonathan Manners and Paul Spicer.
The BBC Concert Orchestra and conductor David Hill then perform Richard Allain's musical setting of A Christmas Carol with narration by Stephen Fry.
