In its world premiere, Welsh composer Rhian Samuel’s Earth Newborn sets four poems by the British poet Edward Thomas. The second commission in the programme is Rolf Hind’s The Secret Names, where the BBC Singers and Robin Michael perform this virtuosic setting of the words of Roberto Calasso.
