Sergei Vasilenko’s Concerto Poem for Trumpet & Orchestra, written in the late 1940s, which demonstrates the trumpet’s lyrical voice. Sergei Prokofiev’s nostalgic final symphony, No.7, was completed in 1952, the year before his death.
