Concert Information
Puccini first showcased his operatic voice through the orchestra alone with his Capriccio Sinfonico. Marking the start of his signature musical style, it blends the lyrical and dramatic qualities that later came to define his iconic operas.
Strauss’s Macbeth, the composer’s first tone poem, mirrors Shakespeare’s tale of ambition and consequence.
Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen is a vibrant ode to nature told through the lens of a charming female fox as she navigates her place in a world full of animals and humans, not all of whom are welcoming.
