Cycling is open to all competitors, male and female athletes compete separately. There are two races that the athletes will compete in; the criterium, a race that involves several laps around a circuit, and the time trial event, where competitors complete a one lap sprint (around the same circuit).
The Bikes
Hand bikes are unsurprisingly operated by hand while road bikes are used on roads.
Recumbent bikes require the user to be lying down whilst operating the bike with their feet and tandem bikes are bikes for two riders.
