Concert Information
Join the BBC Symphony Orchestra and conductor Tung-Chieh Chuang at the BBC’s iconic Maida Vale Studios for an afternoon of orchestral favourites. Opening the concert, Lyadov’s folksong-inspired tone poem is an emotive portrait of the Russian witch Baba yaga. Alexandra Soumm joins the BBC SO for Mendelssohn’s famed Violin Concerto, considered a cornerstone of the romantic violin repertoire. Tchaikovsky’s much-loved Symphony No. 5, with its heart-warming French horn solo in the second movement, brings the programme to a rousing conclusion.
This concert will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.
Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that as not everyone who asks for tickets uses them, to make sure we have a full house we send out more tickets than there are places.
